Samsung is one of the manufacturers who have started upgrading Android Marshmallow in its premium range phones and tablets like Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4 and whole of Galaxy S6 series. Samsung brings another upgradation in its Samsung Galaxy Tab A8.0 in the form of Android 6.0.1 along with other features. The update is quite similar to that done in Galaxy Tab A 9.7 last month.
From the Marshmallow upgrade, you can expect doze for better battery life, Google now on Tap and Android’s new permissions system too. It is going to weigh about 1.1 GB, so you need to have sufficient space and battery before making this update. The other feature includes fingerprint support (for easy purchase) and redesigned app drawer. Apart from the update, there are some bug fixes also to be found in the new update. The update also improves Samsung’s own Touchwiz Overlay thereby improving performance and stability by making it lighter, less bloated and more user friendly.
If your Tab has slowed down and is not as loved as before, get the new update. You can also check the update manually by going to Settings> About Device> Software Update> Update Now. However, you should get a notification as and when the update is ready for download.
If you are a Galaxy Tab A owner, this comes as good news for you. But you need to wait for some more time more because as of now the update is out for Australian markets only and yet to come to other markets of the world.
