Samsung Starts Selling Gear 360 Camera in Singapore & South Korea

Shooting photographs with your standard cell phone camera is just so old school. The 360 degree imagery is now the new in-thing in the world of photography. Forget about the endless hours of Photoshop effort for those perfect 360 degree shoots.

Last year Samsung had announced its 360 degree camera in mobile world congress in Barcelona and as per their promise Samsung has made the camera available for sale from April 29th.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 360 is available with the purchase of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in Select Countries.

Samsung Gear 360 Virtual Reality Camera

Gear 360 as the camera is popularly called has the appearance of a small ball with two fish eye lenses, each having a 15 mega pixel sensor. It is capable of capturing both video and still photographs. It captures 3,840X1,920 video at 30 frames per second and images of 7,776 x 3,888 resolution, which roughly translates to a image quality of 30 megapixels.

Gear 360 comes with a small tripod or stand, a micro SD slot which is expandable up to 128 GB. This device is built for outdoor purposes and is completely dust and water resistant. You can attach this camera through NFC which would allow the device to transfer the photographs to your phone without any problem. If you are in a Wi- Fi zone, you can make use of the Wi-Fi path to transfer it to your smart phone. The camera even has a rechargeable battery, which means, you do not have to worry about power back up while shooting to your heart’s content.

Gear 360 as of now is only available in S. Korea and Singapore and is likely to hit other markets in Europe, North America and Asia pretty soon. The price of the device in not yet known and is likely to be around $ 350 as per sources.
